"We don't want to become just artists"

Minerva Art Academy is all about being a tolerant and open, international learning community, a community at the center of society. We are rooted in the northern region and connected to the world. Minerva educates artists, designers, pop artists and art educators of diverse backgrounds and nationalities to become artistic makers. They explore the world through art and enable artistic ideas to take on meaningful form, ask critical questions, provoke interaction, evoke the unexpected and thus, as “the arts,” have an impact on the world.

Minerva Art Academy is the oldest school within Hanze UAS. At the academy you follow one of our four bachelors, or advance to an MA in Fine Art and Design at the Frank Mohr Institute. Are you interested in a master's degree in the educational field? Then you can go to our Master in Art Education (Dutch taught).

Colleboration art school in Groningen

Minerva Art Academy, Lucia Marthas Institute of Performing Arts and Prince Claus Conservatoire are the Hanze's arts colleges and the only ones at the college level in the North of the Netherlands. We work a lot together with Prince Claus Conservatoire and Lucia Marthas Institute of Performing Arts, both of the Hanze's other art colleges. In projects, performances, and sometimes extracurricular activities. We share with the Prince Claus Conservatoire the Research Center Arts and Society and offer the Master Arts Education together (with NHL Stenden as a partner).
