“During classes at the Communication program, I was always working on artworks and songs. Eventually I quit Communication and started looking for an education that matched my creativity and was challenging at the same time; I found this at Popular Culture. I really like the freedom of disciplines. I not only want to make music, I also like to be involved in directing music videos, writing scripts or acting. Popular Culture is a place where it doesn't matter what you do, as long as you want to make and create.”
“Besides being busy with your own productions, you also get good basics in project management. You learn the tools and theories that you in turn can apply to your creative work. You also learn, for example, how to apply for grants, which is super helpful within this industry.”
“You can pretty much design your entire studies yourself. The diversity of disciplines is also reflected in the teachers. So you can find a teacher from whom you can learn the most. I found out during the course that creative concepts, the basis of any creative work, appeal to me the most.”
“Within the academy there is a great sense of 'we do it together,' which makes the academy an appealing community in which to develop. For example, a classmate organized a festival for the whole academy. For this, everyone made something special like performances. Super cool and I don't think I would have found this quickly at another academy.”
“If you know you are ambitious and creative, want to make things, you will fit well within this course. Whether you want to make podcasts or talk shows, the academy provides the space for this.”
