Artists and alumni of de Design programme, Merel Wendt and Renée Ensing, were chosen by the Hanze Art Committee to carry out a special commission for in the Marie Kamphuisborg. The artwork “Search” was unveiled on Sept. 7 in the cafeteria of the Marie Kamphuisborg of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen.
“Search” is a 3D composition that uses colorful wooden forms that illustrate the themes of health, connection and social contact through everyday objects.
The artwork includes references to the various studies in the building, such as Social Work, Human Resource Management, Applied Psychology and more. The work also refers to the overlapping themes found in the Marie Kamphuisborg.
In this search board, viewers are invited to make their own connections between the different illustrations. The meaning of the artwork depends on the viewer; everyone makes different connections. Everything is connected.
