Graphic & Interaction Design

You design visual communication for analogue and digital media in a creative and original way. Both images and typography are important to shape the powerful ideas you develop. Understanding your designs and their meaning is at the heart of graphic design.

You will learn to design for the different places in which you can share stories (your own or others') with different types of audiences.

Public space is an important platform for graphic designers. Here, posters are a well-known medium, but there are also other possibilities - think murals, projections and tattoos, often analogue but tailored to digital media. Designing for public space is not just about visualizing stories, but also about taking responsibility for the type of information you help disseminate.

You also come across the concentrated space in which books and magazines are discussed. In our fast-paced age, this older form of knowledge sharing is still very relevant. Concentration requires specific ways of designing, understanding storytelling and going back and forth between text, images, medium and design.

In addition, interactive spaces invite you to actively involve the audience in communication, for example in websites or environments. For graphic designers, this means thinking about non-linearity and experiences and working in technologies that are rapidly evolving.
